Abstract

This comprehensive study researches into the pervasive impact of parental smartphone use on children's behavior and development in the contemporary landscape dominated by technology. As smartphones have seamlessly integrated into daily life, their benefits for communication, entertainment, and information are undeniable. However, the study sheds light on the significant drawbacks, particularly the interference of readily accessible smartphones in face-to-face communication within families. Focusing on the repercussions of parental smartphone usage, the research addresses concerns that excessive use may adversely affect children's physical, emotional, and cognitive development. The essay aims to explore these effects and propose effective strategies for parents to strike a balance between smartphone use and fostering healthy parent-child relationships. The study introduces the concept of "model parents" who, in the context of smartphone use, are responsible role models. These parents are mindful of the impact of their actions, limit their own phone use, and educate their children on appropriate smartphone usage.
