This research paper, “Tribal Handicrafts and Market Economy in Nilgiris: A Historical and Socio Economic Perspective,” examines the production and market integration of handmade goods within indigenous communities. The study focuses on the economic empowerment derived from these activities, particularly for women, and explores the impact on livelihoods. Furthermore,
the research investigates how these products facilitate a broader understanding of indigenous cultures. This research endeavours to analyze the evolution of tribal communities’ products within the market, along with the associated challenges. Furthermore, it seeks to identify opportunities for future research enhancements and to foster the growth of tribal entrepreneurship. The primary
