Abstract

This research paper delves into the concept of "Semmatha Nerikal" (the virtuous and righteous principles of life) embedded in Tamil Siddhar literature. Rejecting ritualistic dogmas, caste hierarchies, and the depreciation of the physical body, the Siddhars established a profound philosophical synthesis between the cosmos (Andam) and the human body (Pindam). Through textual evidence from Tirumular, Sivavakkiyar, Bhadragiri, and Kaduveli Siddhar, this study analyzes inner purity, universal compassion, holistic health practices (Kayakalpa), and social equality propagated by the Siddhar tradition.
