Abstract

Neuroaesthetics and film is a young field in the study of films, it is an interdisciplinary paradigm. Neuroaesthetics, is a new scientific discipline whose object is to identify and understand the neural processes involved in human art behavior- those processes that underlie both the construction and experience of art. This study is an attempt to mark the relationship between Neuroaesthetics and film narration. The context of the present work is encapsulated within the theoretical concept posed by the Neuroscientist V.S Ramachandran in his, Neuroaesthetic principle of “Peak Shift" and “Contrast" applied to the textual analysis of two Indian films. Finally, the analysis and discussion of the study posits a new paradigm for analyzing films.
