Abstract

Social media has been used as a vital tool by children in many if their daily life. From education to entertainment, everything is found at their fingertips. Today, the children find social media as a platform to attain crisp news. They prefer reading online news articles than spending time in reading newspapers. Being at a stage where the mental development isn’t complete, children fail to find credibility of such news.

The research paper will discuss social media effectiveness in the context of influencing opinion making ability of school children on public activities, most discourse about ethical use of social media in the classroom. This paper utilises social constructivism theory to guide the development of an ethical decision-making framework for school children and also comparing the opinion making ability differentiating in the schools from rural and urban background.
