Abstract

Tribal communities in Tamil Nadu, with their rich cultural heritage and deep connection to nature, have demonstrated remarkable resilience in the face of historical marginalization, economic challenges, and social exclusion. Their traditions, practices and knowledge systems reflect centuries of adaptation and survival amidst adversity. Tamil Nadu has implemented a wide range
of initiatives in education which enable tribal students to pursue professional and advanced studies. Ultimately, education serves as the cornerstone for tribal empowerment and Tamil Nadu’s strategies reflect both resilience and reform in advancing inclusive growth. Hence, the aim of this paper is to highlight the educational programmes for the upliftment of Tribal people in Tamil Nadu.
