Abstract

Empowerment considered being the redistribution of social power and control of resources in favor of women.  Objective of the Study to evaluate the aims of Self Help Groups with special focus on economic conditions of the Self Help Groups members; The case of  performance of Self Help Groups in Ezhilur Panchayat taken to examine the empowerment of Self Help Groups and to suggest policy measures for further strengthening of women Self Help Groups. The study aims to analyze the women empowerment through the Self Help Groups in Ezhilur Village Panchayat for the period of one year from March 2017 the present. The research analysis is based on primary data collected through scheduled questionnaire and interview from the respondents. Both primary and secondary data are used in the study. Personal interviews were conducted individual respondents level with the help of the schedule given in the appendix for collecting primary data from Self Help Groups which consists of 10 members each. Secondary data are collected from the records of District Collectorate and Village Administrative Officers. The collected data have been classified, tabulated and analyzed. The statistical tools analyzed using like simple average and percentage method. The present study aims to measure the women Self Help Groups are fully engaged in agricultural and allied activities and how the same group are empowered economically.
