Abstract
The paper attempts to analyze the voice of the marginalized people in the novel the white Tiger. It also explores how marginalized people are exploited socially, politically and economically. The exploitation and the suppression of the marginalized people under the hands of the rich people is also examined. The central character in the novel Balram belongs to one such marginalized community. Initially just like a subaltern he becomes a loyal and meek servant following the orders of his master. But in the later part of the novel he begins to rebel against and breaks free from the chain of slavery and becomes free. Thus the entire novel is narrated from the voice of Balram .Balram becomes the voice of the marginalized people and presents the plight of the subaltern.
