Abstract

The main motive of this research work is to study the triple bottom line impacts of ethnic festivals on indigenous local community well-being. The primary data is composed from indigenous local community from 11 districts of Mizoram through a structured questionnaire. A total of 399 samples were collected from the respondents. The overall survey tool reliability value is 0.83. Primary data were analyzed by using factor analysis. The indigenous local community’s socio-cultural well-being is influenced by five factors such as cultural and educational benefits, community benefits, cultural opportunity, emotional attachment, quality life concern. Followed by the indigenous local community’s economic well-being determined by three factors such as macro benefits, micro benefits and standard of living.  Further, the indigenous local community environmental well-being is influenced by three factors such as carrying capacity, ecological degradation and traffic and waste management. The key insights of this research may contribute for shaping the existing theoretical model on impact of ethnic festivals on local community’s well-being.
