Abstract

This paper studied the effectiveness of the health risk communication advocated by the State Government of Mizoram during the COVID 19 pandemic. It also studied the level of perception, knowledge, and adherence on COVID 19 related information by the Mizo people. Likewise, it also studied the people’s level of trust in different risk communication strategies developed by higher authorities. The findings showed that the risk communication strategy advocated by the State Government in the context of COVID-19 was quite effective and was well trusted and acted upon by the public during the Covid 19 pandemic in the state of Mizoram. This research could be valuable as the end of this worldwide health crisis is still not in sight. Likewise, now is the opportunity for health and scientific experts to strengthen communication techniques to guide decision-makers in protecting the well-being of individuals, families, communities, and nations. This worldwide pandemic provides crucial lessons and opportunities for improvement in risk communication for future time crises.
